I am, as ever, truly appreciative of being nominated! I was beyond stressed when writing my acceptance answers to the questions as I tend to ‘over-think’ things (okay so ‘tend’ is a bit of an understatement).

Canadian Special Events.com is a MUST site for anyone in the events industry – tips, advise, trends a bound here. They hold an expo every year for event planners like me; one in Vancouver and one in Toronto. This year they launched “Readers’ Choice Awards” where companies/individuals were nominated and now – YOU – can vote for your favourite! (1 vote/person) The one with the most votes – wins. (not sure what one wins) but really happy to have been nominated as it is a nod that MY work has been recognized.

A small glimpse behind the scenes

I’m often asked what I “do” on a given day. I find that very hard to articulate – probably because it varies from each event/couple, a tad from not liking to write. I need the practice however, so last summer (2011 – wow was it really that long ago!?) I asked Alicia from Innocent Eyes Photography to tag around with me at a wedding for an hour or so. You should also know I REALLY don’t like having my photo take (again no specific reason comes to mind). I asked Alicia because 1.She was starting out 2.I knew her aunt for a long time 3.I’d talked to her before and she is very easy to be with, hence my relaxation factor. There were a lot of photos take during that short time and I’ve taken just a few of them to give you a snapshot view of behind the ceremony. This is what I do – well some of it, I was in this same area later for a different wedding and was cleaning up dog poo and battling a small tornado – that’s another story though.

WOW! It’s 2013 and I see that I’ve not updated my website. Yes, I know it falls all on me and no – I don’t have an excuse for it’s apparent lacking. I do commit to having better content and that has forced my idea of a guide to planning into reality. I’ve launched our newsletter called “The Jayne Guide”. The first is out and can be seen here….

Planning the Perfect wedding

A while back I was interviewed for an article about planning the perfect wedding. It got bumped at the time but today was used! I along with fellow WPIC certified wedding planners were quoted. The photos used however were of me and a wedding from this summer (2010) showcasing some ‘personal’ details.

If you take anything away from this article – be true to yourself and your significant other when planning.

Red Tie Affair 2011 – Part 1

Wow! What a night.

I got to be part of this years Red Tie Affair all in support of AIDS NB. The event was super glam with the comdey host Steve Patterson and the music stylings of Pretty in Pink (That 80′s Band) later in the evening. The food was absoultely delish – cudos to Chef Brent Conlin. The decor was a joijnt effort from BarbaraLee Designs, C Jayne Events (that’s me), the Crowne Plaza and AIDS NB. The evening sported a ‘red carpet walk’ to which I’m looking forward to seeing some of the professional photos from Katelyn Rose who graciously donated her time and skill to the event. Photos from the wall were purchased for $10 and Steve also posed with us and the crowd to up the celeb factor. John MacDermid also donated his time and skill to capture photos from the event preformances.

The comedy was so funny and hopefully I was able to capture a small clip just to tease you…..you may need to pop over to my Facebook page to see it.

The MCs (Bob Cann & Joelle Worral – Fred FM) helped the evening along with their professionalism and the silent auction items which were donated to the cause were a huge success!

Just when the guests thought the night couldn’t get better – it did. We had a great time listening to Steve Patterson preform with Pretty in Pink a Phil Collins song. – Funny and he can sing! But don’t get to excited ladies as he is getting married

So much fun and I hope you will be able to join us next year. If you attended this year let me know what you thought; if you weren’t able to attend this year I’d like to hear from you as well.

The lovely Anne Grant will be having a 2 day only sale on stock dresses. Not just bridal gowns but bridesmaid and formal gowns. The sale is in Oromocto at Anne’s Wedding Apparel. If you are in the area – well even if you aren’t it’s worth the drive!

Just check out this dress she sent me for the new stock that is coming in – help her make room ladies!!
